چکیده

This paper introduces the research project of robot assisted minimally invasive neurosurgery. Using visualization technology, the system reconstructs and displays the 3D model of the patient’s inner structure in the computer. Thus the surgeons can make the surgery planning on the model in the computer. Marker registration is used to create the mapping between the patient’s head and the 3D-brain model. Robot arm is used as a navigator to direct the surgery planning and as an instrument platform to assist surgeons to accomplish the operation. The results of the clinical application are given to show that the robotic system is effective.

Robotic Radical Nephrectomy with Vena Caval Tumor Thrombectomy: Experience of Novice Robotic Surgeons

The introduction of robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery has facilitated the application of minimally invasive surgical techniques to many complex reconstructive and extirpative procedures. Even early on in their learning experience, robotic surgeons have been able to complete procedures using a minimally invasive approach, but would not have been able to do so using a purely laparoscopic techni...

Robot-assisted implantation improves the precision of component position in minimally invasive TKA.

Minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures have potential advantages when used for total knee arthroplasty (TKA). The purpose of this cadaveric study was to examine whether robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures improve TKA alignment after modifying the robotic techniques and instruments. Total knee arthroplasties were performed on 10 pairs of fresh cadaveric femora. Ten knees were ...

Clinical application of arthroscopy-assisted minimally invasive therapy in Chinese elderly with type III Pilon fracture

Objective Pilon fracture is so complex that its therapy poses a great challenge to surgeons. Few studies have compared arthroscopy-assisted minimally invasive therapy and external fixation combined with limited internal fixation (EFLIF), and an optimal choice of surgical therapy remains unclear in patients with type III Pilon fracture. Moreover, to our knowledge, very few studies have specifica...

Application of Force Feedback in Robot Assisted Minimally Invasive Surgery

Currently deployed systems for robot assisted, minimally invasive surgery come with no force feedback. This is one of the main reasons for prolonged operation time and collateral tissue trauma. We present an experimental setup for an endoscopic robot system, that is capable of both, measurement and reflection of forces. We have evaluated certain tasks known from endoscopic surgery within this s...
